HISTORY
Chartered in February 2024 by the HPG Chamber of Commerce to focus on initiatives that will generate economic opportunity and improve the quality of life for the communities surrounding Fort Pickett, Fort Lee, and Defense Supply Center Richmond. CaRMA-VA consists of appointed representatives from area chambers of commerce, planning district commissions, cities, counties, industry, academia, other public private entities and individuals who choose to participate, and ex-officio advisory representatives from Department of Defense organizations and installations.

Association of Defense Communities (ADC)
The Capital Region Military Alliance of Virginia (CaRMA-VA) is proud to be an active affiliate of the Association of Defense Communities (ADC), a national organization dedicated to strengthening the connections between military installations and the communities that support them. Since joining ADC in late 2024, CaRMA-VA has taken an engaged role in advancing shared priorities through regular participation in forums, conferences, and working groups. This affiliation reflects our commitment to fostering resilient defense communities and amplifying the voice of the Capital Region in national conversations about military readiness, infrastructure, and quality of life for service members and their families.
