Since CaRMA-VA's creation, in 2024, we contributed to the following projects. More will be added as we progress.
2025 Holiday Host a Soldier (Adopt a Solider)
The 2025 Holiday Adopt-A-Soldier campaign wrapped up with 106 placements and over 200 willing hosts. This was an outpouring of gratitude and appreciation for our military and an indicator of CaRMA’s reach. Special thanks to Channels 6 and 12 for publicizing the program and to CSM Nikea Harris and her Garrison team for coordinating the heartfelt effort.

Capital Region Military Alliance Hosts Inaugural Fort Lee Civil-Military Community Welcome Tour
The Capital Region Military Alliance of Virginia proudly hosted the inaugural Fort Lee Civil-Military Community Welcome Tour on October 24, 2025, introducing Fort Lee spouses and families to the six communities that surround the installation—Colonial Heights, Petersburg, Hopewell, Dinwiddie, Prince George, and Chesterfield.
This event gave participating military families an immersive experience designed to showcase the region’s vibrant spirit, diverse amenities, and deep appreciation for those who serve.
ADC Installation Innovation Forum
IIF returns to the coast of Monterey in 2025! Featuring 50+ sessions, facilitated meetings and networking events, this forum is the only cross-service event that includes participation from hundreds of installations nationally. Join us for over three days of professional development and networking with defense communities, top industry experts and DoD as we discuss actionable ways to advance innovations at your base and community.
Most importantly the Installation - Community Partnerships; The Fort Lee, VA Defense Community Enclave – A Template for Future Partnerships

CaRMA-VA Annual Meeting Reception
Attended by military, local government, state government, partnering chambers of commerce, business, higher education, and local community featuring multiple sponsors, Keynote speaker, transitioned veterans panel, volunteer recognition, presentation to CASA, Emeritus of the Somervell Award.

APPOMATTOX RIVER TRAIL

Working to complete the Prince George County Section of the Appomattox River Trail (ART) with
a connection to Fort Lee. Partners: Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR),
Fort Lee, Prince George County, Petersburg
National Battle Field.
REGIONAL FIRE TRAINING CENTER
Working to address a mutual need among community Fire Departments in the Region and Military Installations.


Museum Access-Enclave
Working with Fort Lee's leadership and Prince George County, CaRMA-VA is contributing to the efforts of opening the museum to the public via a separate route off-base.
FGA PARACHUTE DROP-ZONE
RECERTIFICATION
CaRMA-VA has been Working to address
encroachment issues that impact the ability of military parachute operations to take place at Fort Lee due to utility lines. Partners:
Dominion Energy, Comcast, HPG Chamber, Fort Lee, Prince George County, and local residents.
